District Governor

Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I am excited to invite you to our District Conference, an incredible opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together as we continue our important work in service to our communities and the world.
This conference is designed to be a celebration of the Rotary spirit, where we will come together to hear from inspiring speakers, learn about the latest initiatives from Rotary International, and reflect on the successes and challenges we face as a district. It's an event that allows us to reconnect with fellow Rotarians, share our experiences, and renew our commitment to leadership and service.
Throughout the conference, you will have the opportunity to:
Be inspired by a visit from a President’s Representative who will provide updates on the global impact of Rotary and motivate us to keep striving toward our goals.
Learn about our district's achievements and challenges, and how we can all contribute to creating an even stronger, more effective community of service.
Engage in important discussions during the official business meeting, where we will vote on key district matters that will shape the future of our district and Rotary’s impact.
Hear from dynamic speakers on topics that matter most to our members, both locally and internationally.
Network and reconnect with fellow Rotarians, exchanging ideas, experiences, and inspiration for continuing our work as community leaders and advocates for positive change.

It is my amazing privilege to welcome you to Durban, the city of choice for our District Conference in May 2025. As the most vibrant city within our District, Durban showcases its variety in landscape, cultures and cuisine. The team and I are ready to receive you and make your experience at Discon 2025 a remarkable and memorable one.
We have planned an entertaining, enlightening and enthralling event for you, and we look forward to your company as we celebrate your and our District’s achievements in warm sunshine and a fun-filled environment. So don’t hesitate, register now and be part of what will surely be a magical conference to remember.
Starting off your days with a dose of motivation can make a world of difference. Just a few uplifting words can set the tone for your entire weekend and inspire you to achieve greatness. PDG Priyesh Bhandari

Born in Suncity Jodhpur, India, Priyesh completed his schooling from the famous Don Bosco School, Kolkata and graduated in commerce from St. Xavier’s College. He completed his MBA in Finance and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India. He is the CEO of M.C.B. Exports, a leading Exporter of Handicrafts & Furniture. He travels extensively across the globe participating in International Furniture Shows & sells to some of the top furniture stores all over the world.

He served as youngest District Governor of Rotary International District 3053, Rajastan, India in the year 2018-19. During his tenure as District Governor, he collected the highest contribution ever to TRF in District 3053. He received the Award for the No. 1 District in the country in social media coverage and the POLIO PLUS Award for the district’s contribution of DDF to the Polio Fund. Also served on several positions in the district & received numerous awards & distinctions.

Raj & Shereen Ramchunder

Raj Ramchunder is a retired member of the South African Police Services. As a recipient of ten medals for distinguished service, Raj has been celebrated for his commitment, integrity and strong sense of loyalty to serve. In a career spanning forty years Raj served in many departments within the SAPS until he found his niche as a station commander, a position held for twenty years until his retirement. Raj holds qualifications from the Graduate School of Business (University of Durban Westville) and is highly trained in hostage negotiation and conflict resolution. He was introduced to the world of Rotary in 2004 and since has remained a charter member of the RC of High Noon. His readiness to serve and natural ability to lead exposed him to Rotary leadership and in 2010 his represented South Africa in the GSE to India. This propelled Raj into several other leadership positions within his club, severing three terms as Club President. He served as the national coordinator for the RFHD programme.

Raj served as an assistant governor in District 9370 before taking on the role of District Governor 2024/2025

Raj is married to Shereen, and they have two daughters and a grandson. The family resides in Durban.

He lives by the motto “Love All – Serve All”
